ENG6253 의미론 연구

topic: Syntax and Semantics of Ditransitives

This course will deal with the syntax and semantics of ditransitives. We will cover the original formal investigations into the structure of ditransitives and critically analyze challenges to them. We will examine how semantic composition plays a role in the analysis of ditransitives. We will briefly look into idiomds, applicatives, and typological studies. Cross-linguistic variation will take center stage in our investigation as we examine languages of East Asia and Bantu languages in more detail. We will end with Newman's recent post-minimalist analysis of ditransitives.
